Official PSP Firmware 4.05 Released

Important!
Many have complained about not being able to play Games from their memory sticks after installing this update, please read this first!

Must be a slow day at Sony or something. Today they released firmware 4.05, and here is the HUGE list of new features.

1. One new visualizer effect

Pretty huge update huh?
I doubt Dark Alex will bother making a CFW for this.

I downloaded and installed the new Firmware 4.05 to my PSP during that time it has 3.90 firmware not I can’t play any game at all.

Yea firmware 4.05 sux. i made the mistake of downloading it and now i cant play any fuckin downloaded games and some movies to my damn psp. fuck those smart playstation bastards….if you enjoy playing anytype of downloaded game, DONT UPGRADE TO 4.05

okay, been a while. I have to agree. I convertted Gran Turismo to complete PBP.(PSX2PSP converter). BUT, whenever I try to start it up, there is a message saying that the “copyright information is invalid”. This sucks. If anyone knows a way around it, PLEASE let me know.

*I am seriously considerring custom firmware right about now.* ;(

Some game stores in Malaysia,Penang can help you to wipe away the 4.05 ver you installed.Then they’ll install a awesome ver that you can download anything to it!Btw,i dont live in Malaysia,i just visited there…

It really sucks with 4.05 ,there is no custom firmware till now. i too updated by psp to 4.05 and now no games can be played.
hopefully alex could develop a mod for it.

hey guys… there is a way to go back on the psp 4.05 firmware… the only way to go back a verzion is to download a downgrader copy it to the psp… well that’s all

that’s all friends!!!! GTA vice city works no more…. and apparently many other games are unplayable with that fucking 4.05 firmware. it’s shit.

Just got a PSP software version 4.01 can it be downgraded, I had someone try to downgrade it with the Pandora battery and memoor stick but the unit would not boot from the memory stickk.

Please help

You people……why can’t you exercise patience?
Everyone here knew (even before it came out) that 4.05 was crap…..no new features…you all downloaded it for what? Some pretty effects on a screen when playing music?

Some of you even sacrificed your homebrew firmware for that….shame on you…and all of you that bricked your psp on the process get a pandora battery and magicstick and someone who actually knows what they are doing or if you want to downgrade it back to 3.90 or 4.01….the only way possible that I can think of is applying the pandora battery and magicstick to get the psp back to 1.50 and then manually upgrade to the desired version.

Let this be a lesson to you all noobs in the world of homebrew firmware.

If you don’t know what you are doing,don’t do it….it’s that simple or at least wait for some expert person in the area to tell you the when and how to upgrade….Can’t say I feel sorry for you all.
Next time read everything from top to bottom on what it is about instead of acting like an excited college girl doing stuff you don’t entirely understand just because you feel like it….Peace out

this fucking shity firmware just fucked my psp life to kingdom come! what the fuck shit happens. yes i am a victim of stupidity cauze i am to desperate to make my psp looks cool but what the fuck why they release it in open public without saying a fucking thing! its like a credit card you get rob out for miss information. if they just put a sign like hey asswipe it wont work in your downloaded game! its ok. and even some psp site dont even warn us about the conseqeunces. they even give the link YO MODA FUCKAR! this the new firmware 4.05 coolest of them all download it now!! and now they are blaming the user for the mistake of installing it. we just want to make are psp remarkable and we are accepting our mistake either but you guys out there should have also responsibility to inform properly the public. but whos to blame no one but the poor consumer who saved money just to enjoy playing their psp.
