PSPTube: Watch YouTube on your PSP!

I’ve been searching around the net for some time then i stumbled unto this:

This let’s you play and watch the videos directly from the YouTube website,you don’t have to download and convert FLV files or anything.

Installation:

- Download and unzip the file attachedhere.
- Choose the folder corresponding to your PSP’s firmware version.
Example:
* 100 for firmware 1.00, 150 for 1.50 and 200over for custom firmwares.
- Copy the PSPTube folder to the GAME3XX folder.
- Create an account here.
- Open the psptube.cfg file with a Text Editor.
- Find the ev_id = “ABCDEFGHIJK” dev_id = “” text in the file and insert your account information there.
- Set your Game kernel mode to 352.
- Start the application from the main menu and select an internet connection with the O button.
*Note: It’ll show as “No Videos”,just press O to search for the videos.*
- Enjoy!

Controls:
Start Button – Play/Pause
O – Select/Enter
X – Go back to Results
L Trigger – Go to the Previous Results page
R Trigger – Go to the Next Results page
Select Button – Change Screen size

hey how do i get the game3xx folder on my psp ??

connect you PSP to your computer via USB, open the folder named PSP and there you’ll find the 3xx folder.

H:\PSP>

if there is none, just create a new folder named 3xx on your PSP. =)

you need to have customfirmware, i wont work with original firmwares from sony.

you need to have a custom firmware installed on your psp.

you can tell what firmware your are curently on by going to:

Settings> System Information

if you get something like “3.71 m33″ it means that you have a customfirmware, if it does not have an “m33″ beside the “3.71″ then it means your running on official firmware.

the “m33″ is the indicator whether or not your running on a customfirmware .

With its LocationFree Player, you can get TV or your DVD & DVR content. You can also get Skype & RSS Channels. You can watch movies with UMD’s. You can also change the settings for you PSP. You can get Network Updates, the USB Connection, your Video settings for the UMD’s & your own videos, your photo settings for your slideshow & photos, system settings for you name, language, battery information, system information, enabling & restoring settings. For the theme settings, you can change the background, color of it, or even get wallpapers. For the Date & Time settings, you can change the date and time, time & date format, the timezones & daylight saving. For the Power Save settings, you can change the Backlight Auto-Off, the Auto Sleep & WLAN Power Save. For the Connected Display settings, you can change options to make your PSP compatible with your TV. You can change your Sound & Security settings. For the Network settings, you can change the modes for it. The downfalls are the screen scratches easily & fingerprints get everywhere. You need a case for it. The UMD tray is not as fancy as the last PSP. The PSP may not for younger children because of responsability & caretaking. Oher then that, its the best handheld system.

I think I’ll buy psp for my firend.

tech84, I have a little question. I downloaded the latest version you gave at the comments and put it to my psp. It runs smoothly.

I didin’t fix the config.js file while extracting the folder to my PSP and yet, I can see the search results for videos. Anyways, when I try to view one of them, my screen goes black and I only see the time bar. I left PSP alone for 10 mins, hoped something happens but nothing..

Is it because I don’t have the dev_id?

On the other hand, YouTube (google) staff moved the dev page to google codes. I can’t find my damn dev_id from there either.

Any suggestions?

Sorry but i have 5.00 m33 & i’ll tell u now that psp tube doesn’t work on it. they need to make a newer version. my psp tube just comes up black with the timer bar.

Custom Firmware is a hacked version of the software that runs the PSP, so that the community can make their own games and programs for the PSP. PSPtube is one of such programs. To get custom firmware you DO need a pandora battery which you can make yourself from your psp battery or you can buy them online several places.

Hello,

I have custom firmware 3.88 M33 and I can just place the psptube folder in my Game folder and it works. However, when I attempt to watch some videos on Youtube it says no videos found. for example:

if I search “here without you” it will bring up several results, just not in the same order as when i type it in on my PC and many videos do not show up.

and when I type in “here without you cover” I get no results at all when I know there are videos on Youtube with that title.

if anyone could help me please do not place the answer here instead just message me on Facebook.

one of the dev/pers out just created an CFW called 5.00 gen A 4 OFW 5.00 &up users ..of course dummies hav 2 go through unbrickin ur device,downloadin the CFW..so good luck…then u could get cool homebrew apps Such as free games,themes,new customised interface,get psp messenger,psptube,get emulators etc…..oh i forgot,get skype for free too
